Research Interest:
I am currently investigating the interaction of prolyl-tRNA synthetase with the free-standing editing domain, YbaK.  Specifically, my goal is to better understand the ternary complex formed by E. coli YbaK, E. coli ProRS, and tRNAPro.  To realize these goals, I will perform fluorescence-based binding assays with wild-type and truncation mutants to determine the importance of certain protein domains in binding. This work is based on previous studies by Songon An in the Musier-Forsyth lab (1).
