Undergraduate Research

Undergraduates wishing to gain experience in biochemistry research and willing to make a long-term commitment to the lab are encouraged to apply. Organic chemistry (Chem 251-253) and basic biochemistry or molecular biology (e.g., Biochem 511 or Mol Gen 500) are required. Please apply only if you intend to work in the lab for at least three quarters. Additional research over the summer or over two or more years is a plus, and writing a thesis for research distinction is encouraged. Students typically work for credit (699 or H783), but working for pay is possible in some circumstances. Contact Prof. Magliery about available space and projects. Be prepared to send a C.V./resume and letters of recommendation.

Prof. Magliery strongly encourages applications at all levels from underrepresented minorities and women.
