My research
interest lies in the field of electrochemical gas sensor development.
Currently, I am working on the effect of
humidity on the sensing behavior of a CO2
gas sensor. The objective of this
project is to develop a sensor with stability against humidity by combining porous Li2CO3
and BaCO3
layers to act as a sensing electrode. Focus
is placed upon eliminating the disturbance by water vapor
and investigating the effect of microstructure on humidity
interference.
In addition, I am attempting to develop
a
miniaturized version of a potentiometric
CO2
sensor by using RF magnetron sputtering deposition. The eventual goal
is to
make sensors at a low cost and with decreased power consumption. Such
sensors would be ideally suited for operation within a sensor array.
