Subject: The report from Voronezh

Dear Brethren,

I am so glad to the opportunity to inform you about all the wonderful things
God is doing in His church in Voronezh. Since that time when the last report
was sent, many events took place in the church. Yves Perriard, our missionary
from Switzerland, was deported from Russia by the authorities.
Now it is clearly seen that the authorities are strongly against our church!
During last two months, I was brought to the KGB office twice. It happened
in such a way.  A man phoned me and asked me for a meeting for the Bible
studies (it is a usual thing for me to receive such kind of calls).  I took
my Bible and went to the park where we made the appointment.  That young
man introduced himself as an agent of the dept. of KGB. He took me to the
office where we had a very long conversation (two and a half hours). They
appeared to know a lot about the church and they are aware of many events
that take place there. Those 2.5 hours were really hard to me. Two weeks
later they brought me to the department again. I was talking about almost the
same with other people.  They sounded quite friendly, but I think hard times
will come soon. And here I recollect the words of the Lord, "As long as it is
day, we must do the work of Him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can
work" (John 9:4). 

God is blessing our church richly. Since my last report we had several
baptisms. Here are the names of the new members of His family  : Polina,
Roman, Mundunga Obert Christian, Tanya, Galya, Nastya, Olga. All of them
became good Christians with great love to God which is a great encouragement
for all of us. We have regular studies with them. Also I have studies with
non-Christians : Alex, Raya, Leonid, Lena, Dr Roma, Ambruaz and few other
African guys, Professor, Doctor of English linguistics Sergey Berkner - a
very special and intelligent person. As long as Yves is gone I am staying at
his place and it gives a great opportunity to invite people and to have
studies with them. Please, pray for all of them !
