_blank Account termination policy for leaving postdocs, students and staff

_blank For postdocs, students and staff who leave the Chemistry Department under normal circumstances (graduation, other employment, etc.), the usual grace period before termination and removal of their chemistry account is 6 months. After this grace period, their accounts will be closed and their files archived. Users will be expected to make any arrangements to retrieve files, E-mail or other information during this time.

_blank Students who drop out and employees who are terminated may have their account privileges revoked immediately at the discretion of the Department.

_blank Unless requested otherwise, forwarding of email for users who have left will be discontinued once their accounts are removed (after their grace periods expire).

_blank In general, Computer Support will not forward email messages that already reside on the server for departed users. Forwarding individual email messages as well as setting personal email forwards are the responsibility of the users.
