blank What's the easiest way to connect Windows-XP or Windows 2000 to your printer?
The simplest way to connect your XP or Windows 2000 machine to your printer is by this method:

Go into your printer control panel, and double-click on the Add Printer icon.

Click next until you come to the screen that asks if the printer is a local or network printer. This may sound strange, but make sure you have Local Printer selected. Click next.

At the next screen you want to create a new printer port. Select that option, using a Standard TCP/IP port in the drop-down box, and click next.

Another wizard will pop up, click next until you come to the Add Port screen. Input this number in the text box asking for Printer Name or IP Address. Simply put the name of the printer there.

Click next, and Windows will ask for the drivers needed. Select from the list the kind of printer you have. The rest of the wizard is self-explanatory.
