blank Obtaining Static IP Addresses
As announced in previous issues of CompNews, Chemistry operates a DHCP server & is promoting the use of DHCP (dynamic host configuration protocol) in lieu of static IP-addresses for most networked Departmental computers (servers excepted).

So, how do you configure your computer to use DHCP?

If you feel that you have a legitimate need for a static IP address, please send email to Chemistry Support. Otherwise, follow the link above to find directions on how to set up your particular computer on DHCP.
