  1. From the Start menu, select Settings, choose Control Panel.

  2. Double-click on Network.

  3. Click on the Protocol tab.

  4. Select TCP/IP and click Properties.

  5. Select Obtain an IP address from a DHCP Service.

  6. Click on the DNS tab.

  7. Host: same name as NetBIOS name.

  8. Domain: clear all entries.

  9. DNS List: clear all entries.

  10. Domain Suffix Search Order: Clear all entries, then add "chemistry.ohio-state.edu".

  11. Click on the WINS tab.

  12. Primary and Seconday WINs: clear all entries.

  13. Click OK for the TCP/IP Properties window.

  14. Click OK for the Network window.

  15. Restart your computer.
