Subject: newer versions of pine and pico available

 We have upgraded the email program "pine" and the editor "pico" on the
 chemistry Unix server and all assimilated Sun-Solaris and IBM-AIX
 machines:

   chemistry / Sun-Solaris:

 	pine  3.93 (default) 	--> 	4.00
 	pico  2.9		-->	3.0  (new default)

  IBM-AIX:

 	pine  3.93		-->	4.00 (new default)
 	pico  2.7		-->	3.0  (new default)

 We have not changed the default for pine on the chemistry server, the
 machine most frequently used for email purposes, because several commands
 are different in the new version and we didn't want to confuse everybody.

 If you want to use the new version of pine on chemistry (or the assimilated
 Sun-Solaris machines), simply type

 	pine.4.00

 We may change the default version of pine at some time in the future.
