Growing pharmaceutical company in Boston area is currently seeking an
Analytical Scientist to provide analysis development support for early- and
late-phase development compounds. Candidates need a Ph.D. in Chemistry with 0-
5 years experience performing analytical methods development in the
pharmaceutical industry. Individuals must have experience in HPLC, GC, IR,
UV, dissolution, KF and other general laboratory equipment. Preferred
candidates will have prior experience in drug substance and/or dosage from
support, particularly oral solid dosage forms.

Medicinal Chemists, BS/MS and Ph.D. candidate openings; must show demonstrated
expertise in the preparation of organic molecules and have a strong background
in synthetic organic chemistry. Candidate must be experienced in the use of

generated as required for the analysis and characterization of organic
molecules. Primary function will be to work in a laboratory setting

Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunities1. Research Fellow - (Organic Synthesis area) University of Limerick, Ireland
Membrane Structural and Functional Biology at the University of Limerick
(Ireland); structural biology with a particular emphasis on cellular membranes
and on structure determination by crystallographic and spectroscopic means.
Efforts are underway to establish a Centre for Membrane Structural and
Functional Biology. It will support world-class research and resources and
will enhance the Irsh economy in a sustainable way by contributing to the
knowledge base in membrane biology, drug discovery and sensor development.
Salary: 33,541-38,579 Euros per annum

2. National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST)
Activities within the Chemical Microsensor Program at NIST offer interested
applicants a variety of advanced research opportunities relating to project
areas that include:
- Nanoengineering of materials
- Application of microarrays for combinatorial studies of materials
processing, kinetics and property optimization
- Development of new sensing schemes
- Design/fabrication of micromachines (MEMS/NEMS) devices
- Utilization of millisecond and microsecond thermal cycling in microscale
structures
- Study of fundamental chemical and electronic effects/mechanisms for chemical
sensing
Most positions are open only to U.S. citizens (although a joint NIH-NIST

The Alberta Lipid Utilization Program (ALUP) at the University of Alberta
seeks highly motivated doctoral graduates interested in working with soft
lipidic materials.
a. Ph.D. in Materials or Condensed Matter Physics. Experience with
theoretical and experimental aspects of X-ray diffraction a must. Modeling
experience, and experimental skills in imaging and mechanical properties would
be an asset. Fundamental knowledge of thermodynamics is essential.
b. Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. Experience in thermodynamics and phase
behavior studies essential. A background in kinetic processes would be an
asset. Molecular modeling experience and XRD and/or NMR skills are
important. Experience with experimental methodologies in thermal properties
of materials would be important.
