a. Research Associate; must have Ph.D. is synthetic organic chemistry.
Experience in characterization of peptides using surface plasmon resonance and
atomic force microscopy and protein inhibition would be ideal. The research
associate would carry out laboratory research in the synthesis of bioactive
molecules and carbon nanotubes, characterizations of proteins and
nano-structural materials, and performing binding studies of proteins with small
molecules.

Postdoctoral Position Available1. Biophysics Group at National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST)-
Formerly the Laser Applications Group, the newly-formed biophysics group
emphasizes interdisciplinary research in selected areas of biophysics, advanced
spectroscopies, and optics. Projects areas are advanced spectroscopies and
microscopies, nano-optical probes, imaging technologies, and associated
theoretical models to solve problems in biophysics and bioanotechnology in the
areas of biomolecular and cellular structure, function, interactions, and
dynamics in support of the needs of the healthcare, biotechnology and
pharmaceutical industries.
